A forgotten combination, a keypad that has gone dead, or a safe that came with the house and has never been opened. We open home and business safes, and where the safe is worth keeping we repair it afterwards so it stays usable.
Manipulation before drilling
The aim is always to open the safe without destroying it. A dead electronic keypad is very often a battery or a failed keypad rather than a failed lock, and replacing that part is far cheaper than drilling.
When drilling is the only route, it is done at a known point for that model and repaired afterwards with a hardplate patch, so the safe still locks and still protects. A safe that has been drilled at random by someone guessing is usually scrap.

Proof it is yours
Safe opening carries the strictest identity check of anything we do, and reasonably so. Expect to show ID, and to show your connection to the property the safe sits in. For an inherited safe, probate paperwork or an estate document naming you does the job.
Inherited a safe with no combination
More common than you would think, and usually openable. Bring us whatever paperwork came with it — the manufacturer and model shorten the job considerably, and occasionally the original combination is recoverable from the maker’s records rather than needing any drilling.

Common questions
Can a safe be opened without damaging it?
Very often, yes. Manipulation, recovering the code, or replacing a failed keypad avoids drilling entirely. Drilling is the last resort, not the first move.
My electronic safe keypad is dead – is the safe broken?
Usually not. Flat batteries and failed keypads are the most common cause, and both are far cheaper to fix than a drill-and-repair.
Can you still use the safe after it has been drilled?
Yes, when it is drilled properly and repaired. We patch the hole and replace the lock so it still secures. Randomly drilled safes usually cannot be saved.
What ID do you need to open a safe?
Photo ID and evidence you are entitled to the contents – proof of address for the property, or probate paperwork for an inherited safe.
