Locksmith in St. Louis, Missouri

Locksmith Hero is a locksmith working the whole St. Louis metro — the city, the county and the suburbs either side of it. Car keys cut and programmed at the vehicle, cars and houses opened without damage, locks rekeyed and replaced. You get the price before the work starts.

What we get called out for in St. Louis

The three calls that fill most days are the same across the metro: keys locked in a car, a house key that no longer turns, and a fob that died without warning. All three are roadside or doorstep jobs — nothing needs towing to a dealer and nothing needs the door taken off.

The city’s housing stock shapes the residential work. Brick two-family flats in the south city and north county ranch homes were built with hardware that is now decades past its service life. Worn deadbolts that no longer throw cleanly are the single most common lock complaint we get.

Car keys and lockouts

Car work is most of what we do. We cut and program keys at your vehicle, including push-to-start proximity fobs and all-keys-lost, where there is no working key left to copy from.

  • Car lockouts opened without damage to the frame, glass or paint
  • Keys cut on site for most makes and model years
  • Transponder and proximity fobs paired to the immobiliser
  • All-keys-lost handled, not just spare copies

Homes and businesses

  • House lockouts, including UPVC and multipoint doors
  • Rekeys after a move, a tenant change or a lost key
  • Deadbolt and handle set replacement
  • Master key systems for storefronts and multi-unit buildings
  • Safes opened by manipulation first, drilling only as a last resort

How the price works

Three things move the number: the lock or vehicle, the time of day, and whether a key has to be cut and programmed on site. A house lockout on a standard deadbolt is the cheapest call we take. All-keys-lost on a push-to-start car is the most involved, because the key is cut and then paired to the immobiliser.

We quote the exact figure at the door, before anything starts. We do not quote vehicle work over the phone, because the price depends on the key type and we would only be guessing.

Common questions

Do you cover St. Louis City and St. Louis County?

Yes. The same team and the same pricing covers the city, the county and the surrounding suburbs, including St. Charles County.

Can you make a car key if I have lost every copy?

Yes. All-keys-lost is routine work. The key is cut to your vehicle and then programmed to the immobiliser on site, so there is no tow to a dealer.

Are you open 24 hours?

No. We are open every day from 5:30am to 11:30pm. We would rather tell you our real hours than promise a 24-hour service and not answer.

Will you tell me the price before starting?

Yes. We look at the job on site, tell you the exact figure, and you decide. No tool comes out of the van until you have agreed to it.
