What a locksmith actually costs in St. Louis

All-keys-lost on a push-to-start vehicle is the most involved, because the key is cut, then paired to the immobiliser. Can you make a car key if I have lost every copy?
Yes. All-keys-lost is a normal job for us, not a dealer-only one. We cut and program a new key at your vehicle, including transponder keys and push-to-start proximity fobs.
Do you program car keys as well as cut them?
Yes. Cutting a blank is only half the job — the key has to be paired to your vehicle's immobiliser. We carry the programming equipment in the van and do both on site.
Will you damage my lock or door to get in?
Almost never. Most locks open non-destructively. Drilling is a last resort, only when there is no other route in, and only after we have told you and you have agreed.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
If the hardware is sound and you only need old keys retired — a new tenant, a lost key, a contractor who never handed one back — rekeying is cheaper and just as final. Replace when the hardware itself is worn or you want an upgrade.
